October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and maybe it’s me but the fates seem to have been taking every opportunity to remind me of the blight such viciousness brings to society, it’s prevalence and the subsequent pall it leaves in its wake. Let me explain: It all started with a news story and a plan.

It was a long 21 hour day starting at 3am Saturday morning but the time spent on the Mall in D.C. was refreshing and inspirational. I went with my son, his two friends of years and their sons. The the Justice or Else, 20th Anniversary of the Million Man March drew a huge crowd of rapt listeners, numbers to be determined at a later date, and went off without a hitch of any kind. The watchful eye by members of the Nation of Islam provided security, as unnecessary as it was. The police maintained a presence but off from the Mall and more on the perimeter.
Here are some photos from the day, compliments of me and L.J. More information and commentary to follow soon.
